Hi all. as it may well have been mentioned on here the 10:35 EDB to INV service is booked class 158 and this train arives INV 14:12. Does anybody know if this set works back to iether EDB or Glq on a later working? Just wondered as this is 4 cars vice 3 car 170 and a far more enjoyable traveling experience.
If anybody köws it would be great. BTW This is a weekday service incl Saturday.
Oh and does anyone know if this train will remain a pare of class 158 when the TT Changes next month?

I don't think this is the same 158 though as I believe the 158 from the Edinburgh service then works 5H11 14:35 Inverness - Inverness TMD

According to opentraintimes it is booked into platform four (M-F) at Inverness, presumably meaning it is split and run to Aberdeen (1427) and Inverness depot (1435). On a Saturday it apparently goes into platform two, then appears to run empty to platform seven and then go to Invergordon (1439).

are that figures as the mornings working is formed of pare of 158s and 1 of these is usually one of the refurbed Inverness Based units with the other being a Haymarket one usually with an NX Scotrail interior however on one or 2 occasions an X Northern set has gone up much to my delight.

The 1439 to Invergordon usually leaves from platform 6, but for some reason the WTT has all the Far North / Kyle trains using platform 7.

In a similar vein, are there any Inverness to Edinburgh services booked for 158s anytime during the day?

The 1045 Inverness - Edinburgh is usually two 158's.

big question now is are the above diagrams still the same with the new TT?
Hope theres still at least 1 158 worked service. If anyone knows it would be great. Thanks.

Paisley Canal's electrification has released 4 156s: 3 move onto Glasgow-Whifflet services and 1 is used on the Motherwell-Cumbernauld trains. The four 158s released in turn are mostly Inverness-bound - the peak Ardgay services are strengthened to 2 x 158s and I believe another will strengthen a Highland Main Line service. Of course all will be used strategically to help with the Cessnock Bridge closure in the New Year up there.

Long story short - Yes I expect there to be more 158s to Inverness if anything!

From my own observations several Inverness - Edinburgh diagrams are interworked with Edinburgh - Perth and Edinburgh - Dundee services.

1045 Inverness - Edinburgh is 2 x Inverness based 158s, one of which then works 1435 Edinburgh - Perth.
