Edale - Hadfield next Thursday

Hi all, I'm planning to walk from Hadfield-Edale next Thursday but I'm trying to get the public transport cost down. The plan is to leave the car at Edale and take public transport to Hadfield and walk back to the car.

I plan to leave fairly early in the morning from Edale and ?I have a YP railcard (not much use at this time of morning!).

What I currently have is:
07:49 Edale
09:27 Hadfield (via Man Picc)
This comes to £12 for a through ticket, I have tried splitting tickets to avoid the price increase of going via Manchester but I haven't come up with anything at all.

The other option I have is driving to Hadfield and getting public transport to Edale using the bus via New mills, but this saves 90p after accounting for extra fuel use.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Split at Marple for a total of £10.80 without a railcard discount. If you can travel after 10am that comes down to £7.15.

Change at Ashburys, or Guide Bridge and Romiley.

If you take that train to New Mills arriving at 8.04 then the 8.15 61 bus as far as Glossop, this will get you into Glossop by 8.45, this should save a few quid and a bit of time. Then if your heading for Longdendale you have about a 1mile extra walk or if you are flexible with your walking route take the Doctor's Gate path from Old Glossop.

Thanks for the suggestions. That bus option will get me to Glossop for £8 from Edale, I would prefer to get to Hadfield as I would rather walk down the trail than the main road although it is only half a mile longer.

I have tried to take advantage of the peak district plus bus but unfortunately neither Edale or New mills is an interchange and buying a Dinting - Glossop+bus adds too much to the cost.

You can finish the journey by train (or bus?).

I don't really want to have to time myself to connect with public transport, especially as there is only a 2hourly service to Edale. Last time I walked from Hope I missed a train for 10 mins and was in for a long wait!

If you just want to walk over Bleaklow and Kinder without having to walk from Hadfield to Torside, you could take a train from Edale to Sheffield, then National Express to Crowden. Unfortunately this is £14.80.
