ECS round trip WIM-WIM ?

Saw last night an 8-car 455 go by on down fast, then back on the up later, so I looked it up and it was booked as 5Z50 ECS from Wimbledon park CSD to WOK and back again. What was the point of that exactly? I thought ghost train, but for a start there's plenty of other services on the line, and also it wasn't frosty anyway! Any ideas?

Ilford Depot has similar trial trips to Witham and back twice a day that run as required for testing units.

We have 2 Q trips that run bedford Cauldwell to Luton and back. One AM and one PM.
