Specifically around Hadley Wood, the ugly security fencing having been installed in the Spring has been removed.

What a waste of time and money!

So much better without it so wondering when and where it went?

The fence is still there - just the hideous barbed spiked things have gone (except for over the tunnel mouths).

It looked truly, truly awful.

The local rail user group hit the roof about the fencing and the cutting down of trees. I believe they've got NR to put some trees back.

They're quite influential given some of the members.

So it isn't true that the local caravan dwellers stole the fencing for "recycling" ?

Aren't Hadley Wood residents special?

Good for them if they did manage to get it removed - it was a little over-the-top. Especially as the area had managed quite happily with basic wire fencing up until this year.

I don’t think it needs that level of security to keep the Flying Scotsman photographers off the railway!
