Massive delays on the ECML around Retford. The 17.30 from Kings Cross took 2 hours 55 mins to travel from Newark North Gate to Retford, a journey which normally takes 13 mins.

Trains being diverted from Doncaster to Lincoln and then on to Newark, suspect this may continue into Saturday.

Some north bound trains being terminated at earlier destinations.

Safety checks being made due to a broken rail. The 18.00 off KGX is 180 late at Darlington.

I've just in two hours late from London to Hull + all I got on EC first class was a can of diet coke - I'm starving now!

I came down the A1 past Newark at about 22:30 and noticed a down pax stopped near Cromwell which I thought rather odd

Ah, I was wondering why a HST was parked at the north end of Doncaster yesterday about 16:20, it was on the Hatfield line slightly

I was on 1730 which terminated at York to return to London. Durham passengers had to change again at Darlo

Lots of extra passengers as no/reduced flights to Edinburgh because of Heathrow plane fire.

It got worse for some and was on top a bad start with earlier freight failure at Redford with northbound trains being turned round in Darlington according to family member coming south.

one colleague on 1733 was diverted to Leeds via Lincoln/Doncaster, but another going to Waverley on 1930 didn't arrive till 0340 as there was a failure of another train (? What) at Berwick.

It was the 1800 ex KX that failed at Berwick. I was on it as far as York - full and standing and three hours late.

Travelling to work in London and coming back home on Friday evening I knew that, at some point, a big delay would hit me - although in the back of my mind I still feel that a really BIG delay will come along in the future at some point.
My 100% refund will be posted to the EC site next week.
