Reports of damage to the overhead electric wires, with them being down, near Prestonpans, means all lines are currently blocked between Berwick and Edinburgh.

Ticket acceptance is in place on the WCML, however they are having their own issues as a result of strong winds and heavy rain.

The down line is open at 20mph, with the up line estimate to be open at 1830

Was travelling on the 19:11 TPE Edinburgh to Chester le Street, it was cancelled.
Advised by ticketing staff in the office at Waverley to join the 19:36 Kings Cross.
We departed 62 late and are just passing the affected area at Prestonpans station now

Reached Durham at about 23:50
No passengers joined at Alnmouth, Morpeth or Newcastle in our coach, I think the majority had given up or taken the first train that stopped when services resumed

I was on the 20.27 Lumo service from KGX to Edinburgh. It terminated at Morpeth. Lucky for me I was getting off at Newcastle.

I felt sorry for the on board staff member, who was doing his level best to placate irate Edinburgh bound passengers.

Bit chaotic outside the station when the promised road replacement transport hadn't turned up in sufficient numbers.
