1E09 has been sent through past Peterborough towards London. Guessing the plan will be to turn that at either St Neots or Stevenage.

Unsure of time of reopening, but plan is 3 x trains per hour in each direction.

Possibly 1E09 first to head south.

Emergency Special working will be implemented.

15.37 Sheffield-St Pancras observed to be full and standing throughout before it even left Sheffield.

Standard Class of 1B87 15.27 Lincoln-Kings X also pretty much full and standing in the Standard Class compartment leaving Lincoln. Destination screens still showing London.

1409 Sheffield to Pancras ran fast Derby to Leicester. Presume also due to full and standing.

== Doublepost prevention - post automatically merged: ==

1530, 1609, 1630 LNER ex Kings Cross are planned to run.
After that 1 x LNER per hour and 2 X 12 car GTR Kings Cross to Peterborough.

Avanti acceptance is in place between Edinburgh and London Euston.
Below is the latest on LNER website:-
I know disruption isn't normally this bad and ticket acceptance can't always be taken for granted, but when tickets are being accepted on so many alternative routes, I don't see the point of not just saying that any valid ticket is converted to an anytime single (/ return if applicable).

Norwich - Ely comms also appear to be affected by the fire which is a bit odd as signalling controlled by Cambridge PSB ?

1Z95 departed from Peterborough heading north and is showing as running to Edinburgh, plan was term NCL to form 1S97, unless things have changed. Where are you seeing it cancelled except for a path on RTT, as the other path showing it running is in there?

5E84 is off the terminated 1E84 and is returning to Heaton. (That is, or was the plan, but obviously things change).
Obviously they've changed their plans a couple of times. 1Z95 was showing as "Cancel" on RTT when I posted and 5E84 was showing as only going to Central.

Edit: there were two 1Z95s in the system. 1515 and 1615 from PBO. I was looking at the cancelled one.

In fact 1Z95 is going to Edinburgh now. Not sure what's happening with the northern leg of 1S97.

I bet the EMR staff at Sheffield are a bit stressed today as this is the second time in a week that they have had to deal with lots of ECML passengers filling up their trains. Last Friday doors were being locked 10 to 20 mins before departure due to trains being full.

Saw that Lumo pass York. Looked like about 10 people onboard the whole train.

I was originally going to get the 13:11 Doncaster-York but decided to flag it and have another pint. Which turned into over 2 hours of supping! The Draughtsman pub certainly did well out of it.

One thing that was a bit infuriating was seeing one if not two Grand Central 180s terminating and going empty back North with a full crew onboard. While there was over a two hour gap on service between Doncaster and York. It seems the relationship between LNER and GC isn't exactly good... but surely carrying any Northbound passengers even as far as York where they could have changed for TPE/XC/other LNER services if they wanted further North would have been beneficial all round? GC could have even potentially got a few quid out of LNER for the pleasure too.

Looks like Thameslink are planning a shuttle service between Kings Cross and Peterborough. 9J49 left Peterborough about 15 minutes ago bound for Kings Cross and 9J46 from Kings Cross towards Peterborough.

The relationship between LNER and GC would have no impact on what GC decide to run! If they run empty it is there choice and absolutely nothing to do with there LNER relationship.

Anyone know whats happening with the Northern city line? Seems our train and others are being diverted to kings cross from finsbury park, although I didnt hear a reason given. Checking traksy and the tunnels look empty

The power kept tripping, however is now live again, services should be running (or about to recommence).

Staff at Sheffield had actually taken the 15.37 departure off the departure screens a good 5 mins before departure. I'd bet EMR passengers at Chesterfield, Derby etc would be unable to board.

Loss of power between Moorgate and Finsbury Park apparently.

My wife was on one of the first trains cancelled - she's had to go via Ely to Stansted Airport and be picked up from there! All good fun.

What are my chances of a smooth journey from Cambridge to Kings Cross at 0600 tomorrow morning?

No one will know the answer to that it all depends on the extensive damage caused and if they can get it repaired in time for tomorrow.

Feared as much! Might have to be a taxi to Cambridge to catch an earlier Liverpool Street train as I have a Eurostar connection to catch!

Trains now appear to be moving through the area at line speed.

Thats relatively new troughing so is it related to the ETCS overlay or is it the 25kV cables for the ATS?
Definitely not the PSU cabled AT feeders; IIRC, it was for the new signalling brought in for the Stevenage Turnback (P5), which the ECDP lot piggy-backed on later.

I'm on the Cambridge- Brighton at 07:17 from Baldock so we will see. Unless they cancel it again due to shortage of train crew of course!!!
