A lorry has crashed at Wallyford Roundabout in Scotland, and is laid on its side blocking both up/down main.

Driver reported as being out of Lorry with slight injuries.

Black status declared, and no more service to depart south from Edinburgh, or north of Newcastle.

What are readers thoughts on how the process of clearing the line worked on a strike day. Seemed pretty swiftly dealt with, including replacement of some signalling facilities according to Network Rails tweet. On Thursday afternoon, when the incident happened, there were still half hourly trains heading into Edinburgh from London as well as Cross Country from Birmingham so significant disruption for passengers.

I don’t know about now, but forty years ago there was an unofficial understanding between management and unions that staff would come in to clear the line and sets things to right on such occasions. It was presumed that management would not abuse the situation. Whether this was a national policy or it was just left to local branches to decide, I do not know.

Funny how the nationality of the lorry driver is not mentioned, nor how the 'accident' happened.
If it's anything like the lorry/roundabout overturns round here it will because the roundabout was approached at too high a speed.
