ECML Easter 2026

Planning on doing a London weekend over Easter in 2026, travelling from Edinburgh. Is there likely to be any engineering disruption on the ECML over the weekend or is it too early to say?

Looking at the most recent National Access Planning Maps (issued 14/07/25) the ECML looks clear to me for the 4th & 5th April weekend. This is subject to change (or may have changed since the map was issued) but it would be unlikely, especially considering there is a substantial south WCML blockade that weekend and they won't close both the ECML and WCML at the same time.

The Engineering Access Statement (EAS) and the Timetable Planning Rules (TPR) are collectively referred to as the Operational Rules.

Scroll down -> EAS -> Year -> Vx -> Nat Maps file (FWLA are going to be the ones most subject to change, note a more up to date one might be under V2.1 instead of V3 for some years just pay attention to the issued date in the document). It won't include any changes after the issue date.

There's a lot of interesting stuff hidden away on Network Rail's site.

I've got a similar thread on this - need to get south from Glasgow on Easter Saturday.

LNER ticket alert this week shows that their tickets are now available to book. Nothing from Avanti yet - which would be my first choice as far as Milton Keynes
