ECML diversion query

I travelled north yesterday aboard 1S28 1700 Kings Cross - Edinburgh. This was diverted from Peterborough via Lincoln to Newark where it reversed and continued as normal up the ECML.

Can anyone verify how these diversions negotiate Sleaford? Do they travel direct up the freight only between Sleaford South and North Jncts avoiding Sleaford or through the station and then via West Jnc to get to North Jnc.

They do now.

Originally when GNER started they went through the station in the northbound direction as the northbound line was out of use.
