Given this happened at least 5hrs ago its taken a while to get SLW into force. Also have to wonder how these trees haven't been dealt with as clearly present a threat to infrastructure

It would be instructive to know why SLW apparently took so long to implement ? I have been involved in incidents where we deliberately decided to prioritise traffic in the right direction under normal signalling, instead of introducing SLW, as this was the most efficient way of clearing traffic and maintaining the best possible service in the circumstances; If indeed SLW was introduced at all, rather than blocking both lines to enable a much faster repair and resumption of normal working. But I agree re vegetation management, this is very much an ongoing issue for NR !

That's right, I should have been more specific.

Quite - is the unit stuck at Inverness then as it managed to get there but won't be coming back, or was there a middle of the night ECS?
1E13 will start at Newcastle using unit of 1S10 which will terminate at Newcastle.

The unit at Inverness once it has been fuelled at Inverness this morning will move empty stock to Edinburgh to work 1E14 the 12:00 Edinburgh to London.

Train manager is out of hours to work the service from inverness hence the cancellation.

Driver hours are ok as these travel over from Aberdeen during previous day and lodge over, however due to distribution yesterday they may actually of been taxi’ed up to Inverness.

That makes sense. Cheers.

Some stonking delays on this one, just falling short of the 200 minute barrier. I was waiting for 50 minutes to go south at Newcastle and this train was sat on platform 4 the whole time, in the end it spent a little over an hour at Newcastle station.
