ECML disruption 10/07/24

15:00 from EDB cancelled before departure due to “a trespass incident near Durham”. Does anyone have any info on how long up Scottish services are likely to be disrupted ? LNER saying “disruption until 16:30”, which isn’t very meaningful when we’re 90+ minutes away

We're at Waverley waiting for 1600 to KX, according to LNER staff 1530 has been cancelled due to shortage of train crew.
After standing all the way from Doncaster patience with LNER is running thin

12:00 Kings Cross to Inverness due in Edinburgh at 16:33, now expected 17:20.

We're on 1600to KX, driver has announced that there are 3 trainloads of passengers on board due to non running of 1530 and something about a trespass in the Durham area

Just come back from Donny station, and it appears trains may be on the move again. The 1556 from Doncaster is expected at 1706 and the 1640-odd is expected about 1730.

Bizarrely, a KX to Edinburgh service is running about 25 minutes late though, again due to a trespass incident, but everything else from KX is showing as on time.

A lorry has now collided with a bridge between Grantham and Peterborough (Harlaxton Road Bridge). I think it's going to be one of those days again.

Not really LNER fault when the lines blocked due to a vulnerable trespasser stood in an unsafe place.

1530 ex Edinburgh starting from Newcastle with set off 1S17 which is terminating at Newcastle 40min late. Most likely as no driver to work 1S17 north, hence why 1530 altered. Due to the trespasser.

As a postscript : credit to the staff at Peterborough who held 2L83 so that passengers off 1E22 (including those who should have left Edinburgh on 1E20 and 1E21) could make the connection. (Assuming it was intentional - no way of telling ! )
