Eccles To Weaste Freight Traffic

I know that cement is still coming into Weaste by ship from Ireland. An Oxwellmains to Weaste train was in the system for the night of 1st/2nd April but it didn't run. The whole thing is a bit of a mystery.

The Arkonia is currently moored at Weaste(18/4) and boats seem to be arriving every 10 days or so.Although there is a weekly path from Oxwellmains overnight Thursday/Friday until December there is currently no return working shown on RTT?

In the absence of any other information, it is beginning to look like the whole thing was set up to avoid possible difficulties in importing from the EU which, in the end, never occurred.

I did hear that a 5-year contract had been signed for the rail traffic.
