Ok so I was on the EC 7:12 Wakefield Westgate to London KC on 17th May and this was before the new timetable so I don’t have any information about the service times.

Now due to a broken down train this service was cancelled and I boarded the next service which was running late. Now I’m sure I arrived at kings cross at about 10:00 when I should have arrived at 09:08.

I have put my delay repay form in but it has come back as “The delay was under 30 mins”

Could anyone check this out?

Thanks for your help.

07:12 would have arrived at 09:08, following service (the 07:32) if on time would have arrived at 09:26. I'd assume the following train you caught wasn't as late as you perhaps thought it was, meaning you probably arrived before 09:38.

I seem to remember that morning that the 0530 LDS-KX failed just south of Wakefield, as a result the 0700 LDS-KX ran HST via Hambleton junction, missing Wakefield out, however it did leave late. I wonder if there has been some confusion by whomever looked at your claim. Maybe they just looked at the headcode of the 0712 WKF-KX, didnt realise it didnt stop at Wakefield and because it didnt arrive over 29 late denied the claim. This is just a guess but worth putting the claim in again i reckon.

Yes the 7:12 never made it to wakefield and the 07:32 was at least 20 mins late. I seem to remember arriving at Kings Cross at around 10am.

Do u still have the tickets? Fire an email off to EC, explaining although the train ran from Leeds, it didnt stop at Wakefield and if they could confirm what time the 0720 LDS-KX arrived at KX that day, im sure they have made a honest mistake with the claim and will give you 50% of the single fare back

Why not just call them to clarify? It won't hurt.
