Is anybody else having trouble booking the £10 add-on tickets for children to accompany the complimentary East Coast tickets? I am hoping to travel Hull-London on 19th Jan and returning the 20th. According to the system there is availability for those dates for two adults, but as soon as I add on a child ticket the Rewards option disappears and I am only presented with normal tickets. I wondered if availability could have run out from Hull (although I note that nowhere on the EC website does it say that the £10 tickets are part of an additional quota), but upon checking journeys from York and Doncaster to London on the same dates I experience the same problems, despite there being availability for two adults on numerous services. Is there a technical problem with WebTIS again?

I have tried phoning web support but the advice I got was atrocious, the girl at first stating that it was because "Hull is not an East Coast station"...she then proceeded to read out the FAQs that I had already read, to which I replied "yes, that's why I'm calling you for help". I gather she was new but if she wasn't sure she should probably have checked with her supervisor. I am waiting for a call back from the dedicated Rewards team.

Hi Max. I have booked plenty of East Coast reward tickets (all First) with one or two child tickets. I have also experienced plenty of occasions when no child tickets have been available. Last year a trip to York had to be done via Leeds for this very reason.

It does appear that child tickets have a seperate bucket. It is annoying. It is worth checking the child advance tickets as these can be quite cheap and very often not much more than the £10 fare with the reward tickets.
