Hi all,

I've booked the following journey a few days after the timetable change on the 22nd May:

departs Edinburgh at 17:00 travel by Train service provider East Coast to
station Stevenage arrives 21:16 ( seats reserved: Coach: M Seats: 20A )

But there is no such seat on the online seating plan, as far as I can tell!
seating plan available at: http://www.eastcoast.co.uk/on-board-our-trains/In-your-coach/Onboard-facilities/

Any ideas?

Coach M is supposed to be First in both Mk3 and Mk4 according to the layout plans.

Maybe it will show a different seat once you pick up the ticket.

Thanks a lot for clearing that up; bit annoying not to be able to trust information on their website.

Hi, I am in exactly the same position as I have advance booked seats 19a and 20a on the EC train to London, Coach M later this month.

Aerospace, did you get your seats OK?

Location
Newcastle (unless I'm out)
Coach M is where most of the Advance reservations are allocated, and for that reason, it can get quite full, so if there is any 'problem' with the reservations, it might be a squeeze to find another seat with your preferences.
However, there is also Coaches K and L which very, very often only have between two and 20 passengers in them. So even if you do have a reservation in M and there's no one else sitting in it, you might still find it quieter in K or L.

(EC wouldn't be doing all those First Class promotions if they weren't carrying a lot of empty First Class seats!)

Thanks Dave,

I think the concern for me is that seat 20a doesn't seem to exist on any of the seating charts I have seen. There is a 19a and 21a however no 20a and this is clearly what my ticket states.

If anyone knows why this is, it would be most appreciated.

Cheers.

On the day, there was no seat 20 in coach M. Luckily the train was not very full, so I sat in the middle seat in K.
