If it was being bought out by someone else sure. But it’s US Private Equity, it is going to be asset stripped, lease buyback scheme… over a few years, like the myriad of US PE acquisitions in recent years
The US PE market is a market of extreme short term gains, whatever it costs, if it dies then it dies
It is a legacy carrier where their cost base must be absolutely astronomical working in the islands, small airports, low loadings due to small airports… You can’t change that without Loganair basically becoming a full a LCC, which with the massive cost base won’t work ever
IMO, any routes that Loganair flies, other the scottish services, should just be ran under a BA subsidiary as BA. It would make much more sense than whatever this arrangement is with BA.
Or just in a completely independent operation, it’s mad cost wise that they overextend that much, they even boast being a Scottish airline in Paris… having flown in from Jersey.
It’s not like EasyJet or Ryanair where cost base is lean and they run nearly always full loading
