On the approach to the station from Winchester, on the left side of the train are yards, normally with a collection (allotment?) of sheds, (66's).

Your welcome. Are you heading towards Southampton or Portsmouth?
If Southampton, then th works will be on the left, also past it on the left is the stabling sidings as well, but, I doubt you will see much.
If Portsmouth then the works will be on the right, with the marshalling yards on the left.

As said above very little can be seen of either the works or the depot viewed from the line towards Southampton. There’s a low embankment with varying tree and shrub cover between mainline and depot, and you really only get an “end on” glimpse of stabled stock.
