Eastleigh trip this Saturday

Hi All,

I'm currently getting back into the hobby after a few years out and am planning a trip out this weekend!

I'm staying 'down south' and I'm looking at going to Eastleigh for a few hours this Saturday morning, I was wondering if anyone is able to tell me whether there is many freight movements on a Saturday through the station and also what the general frequency of passenger trains are.

Also, I wanted to make sure that I am ok to take photos at Eastleigh, this is my first visit to an SWT station since about 2010, had a few issues from station staff at Clapham Junction back then when taking photos.

Thanks in advance for your help, hoping to have a ride over to Salisbury as well for some 158/9 haulage in the afternoon and heading back home from there.

There are engineering works going on in the area on Saturday so you're going to be lucky to get a passenger train every quarter of an hour (one each way every half an hour) and it's unlikely to have any freight through. Here is the RTT (Realtimetrains) page for Eastleigh on Saturday.

There are no gates at Eastleigh and there are posters on the station welcoming rail enthusiasts.

There are usual some locos parked up in the yard.
