Easter break to Oban

I WAS planning on going from Liverpool to Oban on Thursday 5 April until I saw the prices. I've found that using ticket splitting at Glasgow cheaper but on that day it's sixty odd quid single. same on the Wednesday before Good Friday.

If I go on the Tuesday I can get the cheap tickets. Is that because it's Easter or is it that the cheap tickets just haven't been made available yet ?

I could spend an extras night in the B&B in Oban and go up on the Tuesday & still save mnoney the way it is now. I'd need extra time off work that's the only downside.

According to http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/times_fares/booking_horizons.html the seats for Easter weekend are not available yet. Apart from Southern, no-one has released after 1st April. Keep looking though, because it shouldn't be long.
