hi I am going to Eastbourne next Sunday on a coach for a week what am i expected to see around bearing in mind
I have no transport

In railway terms you'll see mainly 377s and a few 171s at Eastbourne, but nothing else - un less you're lucky enough to see one of the network Rail track monitoring trains one evening.

Around the town itself there's some fairly nice architecture and a pier, but that's about it.

Plenty of good walking if that's your thing, the South Downs Way is accessible by bus intermediately at Birling Gap daily at this time of year if you don't want to go all the way to Seaford.
The Bluebell Railway is doable by public transport - from Eastbourne during the week the 270 from Haywards Heath serves Horsted Keynes Church Lane which is a short walk from the station. At weekends it serves HK station and on Saturdays from Lewes or Cooksbridge the 121 goes to Sheffield Park station and the gardens.
You can also get to Brighton for Volks Electric Railway on the seafront, and the chance of seeing a Thameslink train (or even a GWR 15x)

The walk to Seaford via Beachy Head is very easily done in half a day , well worth doing ....(starting from Eastbourne saves the scrabble up the cliffs from Seaford) - easy train journey back via Lewes.

From Eastbourne to the Bluebell Railway you could during the week take the 54 (Stagecoach) to Uckfield then the 261 (Compass Travel) to East Grinstead, a Discovery ticket at £9 a day is valid on all operators around that area, but the different operators also have their own day tickets just for their services.
