Eastbourne to Pokesdown: valid via Bournemouth?

Quick question, Im going to Pokesdown in 2 weeks time and it looks like it might be quicker to get a fast service to Bournemouth, then double back - rather than change for the stopping service at Southampton or Brockenhurst.

Basically, am I allowed to do this ?

The Easements PDF has this entry:

30156 WO4475 journey to/from Pokesdown allowing a double back from
Bournemouth.

It isn't clear if that only applies to one specific journey or generally.

I think it isn't allowed normally, as despite the above there's also a negative easement:

30188 Customers travelling via Southampton to Pokesdown may not travel via
Bournemouth. This easement applies in both Directions.

As discussed previously, many easements are only valid for short periods, and the ATOC document is unreliable as it hardly ever shows the full story.

What does a planner show if you ask to go via Bournemouth?

East Coast cannot find any fares if you input via Bournemouth and NRE shows a different price for the journeys with a change at Bomo (a few quid extra).

Was just looking at the timetables, not a massive difference in arrival times so I'll go direct.

It might have been dated during engineering works. Problem is in a large number of cases they don't include all the info...

You could buy a return ticket to Bournemouth. Travel to Bournemouth (outward journey) immediately travel back to Pokesdown (break of journey on return leg) then (when you are ready) return directly from there
