Has anyone applied for a train drivers job with East Midlands Trains recently and had to sit the video

Im assuming you applied for the Leicester job, sorry I don’t have any information for you but good luck with everything, Im waiting for something to appear at Nottingham or Lincoln so let me know how you find the process overall. ;)

Leicester? Derby I assume you mean. It's rules based. Dress smart and have a neutral background. You get two minutes to answer a question and it records video and sound of whatever you say and do in that time. You'll get the question for 30 seconds if I recall correctly.

So are talking in depth rules questions then or we talking questions like eg what signal you stop at lol by the way just used that as example lol just curious what sort of questions etc

All stuff from the rule book with some scenario based questions, it was quite a stressful thing to do as once the test is running you're recorded whatever happens. I imagine its quite a laugh for HR to screen!

So what is the purpose of it via online then why don’t they ask you questions in the interview or test everyone in a class prior to the interview.
Is this the norm now with TOCs
