Can anyone tell me the price of an East Midlands Day Ranger and a 3 in 7 East Midlands Rover, and whether Priv discounts are available, and if so; the price? I know they never used to be available on any Ranger, but I think on some it is now.

The National Rail website has maps but not prices, and I know websites such as Railrovers.org.uk are out of date.

Derbyshire have information on their website - go to www.derbyshire.gov.uk/transport_roads/public_transport/tickets_passes/rover_tickets/default.asp

Northern have the East Midlands Round Robin on their Rovers & Rangers page, but not the EM Rover. Go to http://www.northernrail.org/offers/dayrangers

Sorry but several attempts to include the URL didn't work so you would need to copy these links into a browser.

Neither EMT nor EC mention the EM Rover, and as you say NRES give the list of rovers with not prices or suggestions of where they can be found.

Another "blast" from Adonis is due I think!

URLS Working - Auto when it sees www.abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz.co.uk (example)

You dont have to use (url) (/url) unless you want to change the text shown (change ( to [ & ) to ] for to work

I have turned the auto system for the example.

Just found out the info myself! For reference if anyone else is wondering...

EM Rover 3 in 7 = £63.80, Priv discounts at normal rate
EM Day Ranger = £27.60, Priv discounts at normal rate

Is EMT not responsible for marketing these products?

Northern have done a damn good job with there's, the Cheshire Day Ranger's area of validity has been extended 2-3 times since 2004 and the South Pennines has had the Hope Valley and other bits added quite recently.

The East Midlands Day Ranger in my opinion seems slightly over priced compared to West Mids/Lancs/Cheshire Day Rangers and is lacking a few important bits of track. Even if they stuck a few bits extra bits of lineage and kept it at the same price it would be a positive improvement.

Overall though a East Midlands Rover is I think far better value.

I've always thought the East Midlands Rovers and Rangers are very overpriced in comparison to similar tickets available in other parts of the country.

East Midlands Rover - £83.80 (7 Days) or £63.80 (3 Days in 7).
East Midlands Day Ranger - £27.60
Lincolnshire Day Ranger - £21

For the last few summers I have taken advantage of staying with friends in Lancashire and have enjoyed a 7 Day North West Rover for £75 which covers a vast area, including so many interesting towns and cities, in comparison to the East Midlands Rover. Also the Lancashire, Cheshire and South Pennines Day Rangers are so much better value than the Lincolnshire Day Ranger.

In comparison to the East Midlands Rovers I would also like to suggest that the following are also better value alternatives in terms of the area they cover for the price.

Heart of England - £82.40 (7 Days) or £63.30 (3 days in 7)
Coast and Peaks - £57 (4 days in 8)

Of course there are many more examples in other parts of the country. The East Midlands Rovers and Rangers are very poor value in comparison to most others and yet the price keeps going up rather than becoming more uniform with other areas.
