Why don't you Sail Rail it? If you could endure the 5 hour fester at Holyhead you could indulge your class 57 fetish on the 05:32 to Cardiff as far as Crewe, and still be in Bury in plenty of time for the diesels.

Hmmm, am over for a full day 57 cranking on Friday in the South West, then the 37 tour on Saturday, back to Dublin Sunday.

I haven't even mentioned it to the bird yet about the following weekend, I really think I'd be venturing into unchartered territories if I went away again the following Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

I may be able to fly over early Saturday, and back early Sunday, or perhaps even just the day trip on Saturday. The way I'll do it is this, I'll just say I booked a load of random cheap Ryanair flights during a sale way back in Feb or something, and that I forgot all about them until I seen the check in e-mail reminder.

That in itself is tricky business, as I'll be leaving myself open to all sorts of other issues, why didn't you ask me would I like to go somewhere etc.... Plus, there's also the practical side of things too, cost of going over, days off work etc. If there's something magnificent going on at the East Lancs, I'll endeavour to be there is some shape or form, if not, well I'll save my money...and possibly my relationship

Yes, I've been getting a lot of aggravation since I went on the two day crankfest to Ireland in May. Just going to the KWVR Diesel Gala the other week nearly pushed her over the edge, so it's probably just as well I got bowled out on the Capital Deltic: I'd be getting divorced by now!

Because if all goes to plan we are with Martin Walker and 55022 for the day - filming for a DVD we are producing

So why do you need to wear a high vis all the time if not to look important and ruin everybody else's photos.

It isn't even 100% confirmed we are gonna be there but hi vis is needed as we are going to be on and off the loco and, potentially, in the yards etc.

No-one is going to intentionally ruin anyone else's photos

Ill be there for the Saturday and Sunday. Saturday morning will be Irwell Vale I guess and afternoon and complete sunday will be in the Burss area.
