Last weekend I visited the East Kent Railway. It was a bit of a trip from Victoria, but as I enjoy the novelty of the South Eastern line being raised on the ex-LBSCR it wasn't uncomfortable. The railway itself is short, only about 10 mins or so, and on the day I went they had a Pacer operating the route, which is surprisingly nolstagic for a comparatively modern train. The best thing about the day was all the different older stock they had knocking about in the sidings. If you're a Southern Region man like myself, it was wonderful seeing the old Gatwick Express stock again, and a blue/grey 4VEP. A trip inside a 4COR carriage was wonderful as well, and being able to sit in the cab of their class 365 (why on earth did they scrap them?) also made up for the short route.
Overall, it was a memorable day out, and I'd encourage you to go if you can.
