I know all class 43 powercars are in National Express East Coast livery but did National Express or East Coast finish repaintng all the mk3s into silver livery or do some remain in GNER? I realise all are internally refurbished

And have any mk4s been released yet with new livery thanks

The repainting was finished under East Coast. Some refurbished HST sets were painted in GNER. I have not seen a whole set in GNER livery recently but I have seen odd coaches inserted into East Coast coloured sets so I don't know if you can find a whole HST set in GNER livery anymore.

I bashed this coach from Keighley to Skipton last week, it is the only currently in service still in blue...

Taking far longer than expected to get that mk4 rake into service however with the interim franchise extension no rush..

41190 is the last remaining Mark 3 not yet repainted

Rechecked and there are still no Mark 4 coaches "officially" in East Coast livery

Worth remembering that the Mk4's are not going to be in the same livery as the Mk3's.

silver? yeah I forget the mk3s are predominately white

The shade of silver is quite telling as well, lighter than what is on the Mk3's. In fact, it is very WSMRish. Imagine that, the coaches being painted now into something that can be transferred at little cost into WSMREC!

Wishful thinking most likely but they are now well backed and well liked!

Yes, it is still showing as on-hire to XC
That may be due to it currently being repainted and not yet allocated back to an East Coast set

Why would it be showing on hire to XC when it was never hired to XC? It was part of the XC set hired to EC.

A fairly predictable outcome of the paperwork nightmare that surrounds rail operations, perhaps?

What possibly happens is that EC 'hired' the vehicles to XC to lengthen the normal XC consist, so that the whole set including the extra coaches could then be hired to EC to operate EC services.

But a paprework exercise only, with no actual hire costs being paid?
