East Coast Weekend First Class service

Hi,

I am traveling to Peterborough from London on March 6th and have got a first class advance for the return journey, I was wondering what complimentary refreshments I would get onboard?

The answer is on the EC web site.

Complimentary tea, coffee, water and orange juice will be served at your seat and you will be able to take your pick from our range of complimentary snacks - choose from Cafe Bronte biscuits, Eat Natural mini yoghurt bars, Farrington fruit cake, Dormen's peanuts and Burt's hand-fried potato crisps. The selection available will depend on the time of day you are travelling.

But thats such a short journey that the crew will probs only have got round once with the tea & coffee before you get off

Do they serve the whole train or just first class?

The catering team will walk through first class a few times during the journey (the whole journey) with pots of tea and coffee, followed by a basket of biscuits etc. Passengers are not charged for these.

Std class will be served from a trolley, which serves the above plus sandwiches, alcoholic drinks etc. These will be charged.

There is also a counter which serves all the above and more to passengers from 1st or std class.
In addition, hot bistro-style food is available from the kitchen (at a price). These are served to std class pax from the counter, whereas 1st class pax will have these delivered to their seats. But I'm not sure that you'd have time to order and eat one before getting off at P'bro!

And some EC services still have a proper dining car with chef next to the kitchen, available to 1st and std class passengers but you would need to be travelling at least as far as Doncaster (or Newark at a pinch)
