Tonight I used my rewards points and redeemed a free first class single to put towards I trip I'm taking with my girlfriend in Feb. I've booked my two tickets and have gone back to book the two tickets for my girlfriend and it still shows I have one free single available! I can even go all the way to the checkout part and still would let me (I haven't though).

Has this happened to anyone else?

Also got the common problem of not been able to select a seat for my girlfriend next to me.

Can't comment on the first bit, but there is a known problem with the booking system whereby if you purchase the last seat at a particular price quota it isn't possible to change the assigned seat.

It is rarely an issue to move around when on board.

Yeah and I don't think it would be a problem either esp in FC.

As for the first anomaly I think I shall just give them a call and explain that I'm not entitled to it, it's very tempting to just go and buy it! But it wouldn't feel right to me.

Sorted out the seat reservation by phoning them and them issuing a new coupon to collect from the machine.

About the free ticket they said because of the time of year it may not a processed through the system and it may disappear in the next few days.

I tried to buy 2 free tickets on East Coast this morning, whilst having only 1 free ticket eligibility, and it doesn't let you go through all the way, it errors out saying something along the lines of 'Please try again later'.

I assume there is code in there looking up the free ticket, and erroring when trying to deduct 2 from 1!
