East Coast Fares

We were delighted today to book 2 single tickets Sleaford/Carnoustie for the measly sum of £22.30 total using a disabled railcard. Our outward journey is on April 29. However, we cannot yet find any comparible return fares - I have noticed that East Coast are only accepting bookings up to April 30 and we want to return May 3 or 4. Any ideas when these and any other TOC fares might be released?

They generally get released on a Thursday or Friday, I would say this week for the dates you desire.

I booked my outward journey to the Lake District on Friday 30 April via the East coast site today (booking via East coast allowed a cross-platform change of train at Oxenholme - the virgin site was making me change at Preston with a much tighter connection, using the same trains). I noticed that some of the online timetables are not yet showing bank holiday times for Monday 3 May.
e.g. Yesterday, FCC times were showing up as a normal Monday peak hour service. As you can't reserve a seat on them, it won't matter too much unless relying on them for a specific connection
East coast times shown are different from the usual Monday timetable.

Return tickets were booked today, but now another related query... Our tickets are 'through' tickets - origin Sleaford, destination Carnoustie, and we have seat reservation tickets for all connecting services ( we have 4 changes of train) except Sleaford/Grantham & Edinburgh/Carnoustie.

What happens if just one of the services are late and we miss our connection!:cry:

You'll get to Carnoustie late and probably be able to get some compensation.

It's not like taxis, who have the cheek to charge their customers when they are delayed

Cheeky buggers indeed, although taxis can't really be compared with rail travel. It's like terrestrial TV and the on-demand movie channels really.
