East Coast extra services for Great North Run

Two extra services to be put in place by East Coast on the 19th September for the Great North Run. They will depart from Leeds at 06.05 and 06.55, going via Wakefield Westgate and Doncaster, before running north via York.

This is also one of the weekends when the Carlisle diverts are on as well.

Just noticed that I can't find the 06.55 on the booking engine, although there is one at 09.05 going the same route.

There are two services - however they are as follows:

0605 Leeds - Newcastle via Doncaster and York.
0655 York - Newcastle (the set for this stables in York overnight).

Mis-read the website, thought the additional York service was going from Leeds. Any ideas why the 09.05 off Leeds is going via Doncaster?

Believe it or not, that one is a standard timetabled train and has run for quite some time. It is an electric set, so can't run direct. There is also a reverse working on Saturday evenings - the 17:50 Glasgow to Leeds.

I knew there was the one Mon - Fri which goes via Church Fenton, but never realised there was one like this. For the 19th its booked as a HST due to the Carlisle diverts. I'll be on it so should be a good run out and back for less than £20.
