Says its blocked in this country for me..?

Are you in the UK?

Maybe take a look at the very bottom of Youtube and see what your country is set at?

Just finished watching it but will reserve judgement until tomorrow when others have seen it. The songs continue and they focus on Mark (the Chef) and the newbie at York.

Episode 1 is available on Youtube and tbh it's not that bad. There were a couple of irritating times. BBC are still the best at making railway programs.

Thanks for posting.

One of the train interiors looks a bit strange. You can find a sequence at 36:50. The seats are old and the colour scheme seems to be navy blue rather than standard mallard beige/blue. Clearly this must be some kind of substitution, but does anybody have an explanation?! :)

The EMT set which retains its IC70 BR seats :)

Bearing in mind that it is not due to be broadcast until tomorrow, and the countdown clock shown at the beginning, it looks like it has been uploaded by a member of staff at Sky. He'll be in trouble if he is caught I would have thought.

Yeah, we all know running early is a bad thing!!

I'm watching now and 3 minutes in everything still sounds like an EC produced recruitment video. Come work for us - we're one big happy family! Good to see some recapping of what we've seen in episode one too! I do hope we'll see Nicky having her drink at Newcastle with the other girls on the hen night again too!

I have to say that it's a bit more 'fun' this week, but 20 minutes in and all we've really seen is some breakfasts being made and repeated introductions to Liam doing training to dispatch trains. It's like every few minutes they need to recap and repeat footage of him walking along the platform!

So. Much. Padding. Urgh!

And I wonder if the editor got the idea for the cuts from one Edgar Wright?

Jonmorris - the whole episode is like that, it could also be renamed "isn't everything wonderful on the railway".

As for padding, get used to it, it doesn't change!

I kinda get the feeling that East Coast is actually more like one great big happy family :P

Yes I got that feeling too!

Wonder what it's about next week? A whole episode about how great the East Coast fares are, with profiles on the people who work in the marketing team to set them - with a short clip of the happy revenue staff that rarely have any problems because East Coast passengers are a happy, honest, bunch.

Then the following episode will be on how they come up with their exceptional advertising campaigns, including how they applied the vinyls for the advert for the TV show. Just why is East Coast so much better than the others? Guest starring Bob Crow, who happens to be on the train where the film crew were, saying how good it is to see a state run company in control.

The last six episodes will then concentrate on running through the menus of free food given to people in first class, with a short mention of the Wi-Fi service.

Series over.

I managed to catch the first episode of this the other night. Wasn't impressed. Thought the FGW one was better. Doesn't seem to focus on anything. No real explanation or detail about the delays etc. Yet everyone seemed ok with it all? Yeah, ok. Also, whoever put all that music in should be fired. Immediately. I'm sorry. But there is a time and place for background music. Every 5 flaming seconds is not it!

Don't watch the second one then.

Actually do, as I think it's better than week one although it's still full of padding, recaps, music, and stacks of filler shots and silly cuts.

Just caught the second one. Very, very unimpressed. The people involved were mostly lovely (particularly the whole crowd at York) but the production was appalling - from the cheesy "appropriate" music to Richard Wilson's "why am I doing this" intonation on the commentary.

It takes a lot to make me think that Channel 5 is higher quality production...

Isn't the 2nd one tonight?

Personally I enjoyed it, much like the FGW one.

Turn telly on, brain off, enjoy trains ♥

NEWSFLASH! Train crew eat breakfast!

STOP THE PRESS! Train dispatcher has stone in shoe!

NEWS JUST IN! Catering staff confuse grill order with salmon!

P.S. I counted about forty minutes of ‘narrative’ minus recaps etc. Certainly not worth paying a Sky subscription for, so I'm glad the episodes are being uploaded to YouTube for the time being.

Now taken down.

Not surprised. I can't see Sky having been particularly happy with it being there (as was pointed out yesterday).

If it was a Sky employee, or someone from the production company, I can see someone being in quite a lot of trouble right now.

The best thing about watching it on youtube is the ability to just skip 95% of the entire thing ><

It's a bit of a disappointment, I so wanted to see the incidents like this involving many people's least favourite ticket inspector. I guess East Coast, despite being more than happy for him to continue to give valid ticket holders grief, don't want the reality to be shown on TV.

Apologies, when disputes occur we do sometimes hide them until the matter has been resolved (at our discretion). I have re-activated the thread. If you spot a permissions issue like this again please send me a PM.

Glad we weren't told Liam had got a promotion every time he appeared on our screens. Show is terrible, poorly put together, uninformitve and that Richard Wilson bloke it frightfully boring. It wouldn't bother me if the show was cancelled and not shown again. I'll make a little bet we see Liam again next week.

Most of what we see of Liam is him walking down the same bit of platform over and over. Perhaps he should get his own spinoff series? I'd suggest starting at 12 episodes and going from there*.

You can see from the intro (which is also incredibly long.. it's some 2-3 minutes for that and the lead up to the episode name) that they'll be covering things like maintenance - but I have to assume that what that will actually mean is we'll meet one or two engineers, find out everything about them and their personal life, including any bad things that have happened in their life, and get about 10 seconds of footage of them doing anything.. with Richard making sure to keep the terminology as simple as possible because there's no way we'd want to try and educate people even just a little bit while entertaining them.

* No disrespect to Liam himself, who seems like a nice lad that's very keen and an asset to the railway.

I'm glad that I never got round to seeing the FGW one now. I actually quite enjoyed this programme.

Well, I had low expectations after reading the reviews on here first. ;)
