East Coast Delay Repay for missed connection

I travelled (with 2 friends) from London to Sheffield on Friday evening. The itinerary (booked on the East Coast website) was:

1633 Kings Cross - Retford arr 1802 (EC)
1814 Retford - Sheffield arr 1857 (Northern)

As a result of the 1633 ex KGX running late we missed the connection with the 1814 at Retford and had to catch the 1904 service, arriving in Sheffield at 1954.

I'm unsure whether I'm able to claim under the delay repay scheme - although the delay to the EC service was < 30mins, the knock-on effect was an almost 1 hour late arrival into Sheffield.

Could someone advise whether or not I can make a claim under the delay repay scheme?

Yes, you can claim for Delay Repay. The arrival at the end point is what counts, as long as you allowed for the minimum connection time.

Out of curiosity, how long does compensation usually take? and how do they administer the refund? I see on East Coast they pay in National Rail vouchers.. is this the norm for all TOC's?

Thanks for the replies. The itinerary allowed for 12 mins connection at RET - the minimum connection time being 10 mins according to the National Rail website.

Annoyingly, we made up some of the delay on the KGX-RET journey, and the RET-SHF train was also running slightly late (it hadn't arrived when we passed over the low level on the way into the station). Alas, in the time it took for the ex-KGX train to stop, and for us to alight and run full pelt down to the lower level it arrived and departed - consequently we only missed it by about a minute.

You can claim all three tickets on one form, and my experience of East Coast is that it takes around a week for the RTVs to arrive, so fairly quick.

You can submit the application online. Make sure that you scan all three tickets into one image.

Yes this is the norm for all TOC's, although it was mentioned in a previous thread that vouchers issued by Southern can be exchanged for cash at Southern ticket office
