East Coast 125 - coach M closed

I am on the 1425 East Coast service from Newcastle and the operating equipment is 125 rather than the scheduled 225.

Maximum confusion as there is no coach K and coach M is closed so nobody can find their reserved seat!

The lights in coach M are off so I assume this is the problem. The doors are still open though. The air conditioning seems to be working. Is there anything else that could cause the closure?

And if a STD passenger took a seat in coach M, could that passenger remain there for the whole journey if they do chose without penalty?

Could be a lot of things, one of which is there's a faulty smoke alarm in the coach; I've been in a XC voyager where the smoke alarm was set off, so they had to turn it off completely, but then they locked the coach out of use because it was a safety risk.

Usually in EC they won't lock a coach out if the AC is broken, just offer complimentary water and over seats in the train. Although it might be different as M is at the end of the train :P

If the coach is closed they'll be ejected for the simple reason no-one standard class or first should be sitting there!

Every time I've been on a HST with a problem it's been in Coach M, I'm sure they're not any different to the rest of the coaches but there you go.

The worst was dragging brakes, I genuinely thought we had a fire for a moment hock:.
