It's not idea to have every station or indeed terminating stations with platforms too short. Was a 10 car 377 that failed at Balham on the fast line one morning peak on the 8 car platforms (10 car slow line platform also had a failed 10 car 377 at the same time) and the time it took to walk everyone through was a major issue.
Not so bad at lightly used stations but ones with higher footfall should be extended where possible.
