I was involved with Barrow Hill roundhouse at an early stage as and was fortunate to video a lot of the early development, here are a couple of tasters. I am gradually editing all of my 8mm and VHS-C camcorder tapes and chucking them on youtube

first two DRS locos arrive for an early open day

Merchant Navy 4-6-2 'Canadian Pacific' was a fantastic sight in early BR Blue both in the roundhouse and out on the main line. We were a bit cheeky and parked the Crab out on the spur with some smoke coming out of the smokebox. I bet a lot of people on the excursion were baffled!!!

when the Deltic departed Barrow Hill it had to cross over the Midland 'Old Road' to get onto the up line. Watch as the smoke obliterates barrow hill sidings in this blast from the past!

Do you have a date for the Deltic clip? The reason I ask is that you give it as departing after a 1999 Open Day. However, my records show that the 1999 Open Day (in July) was attended by D9009 and 55019 in a pair. I'm wondering if it was actually on May 5th 1999, which was when D9009 left Barrow Hill for Crewe after having work to get it main line certified - this was the loco's first run on the main line since 1981.
