Hey!
What's going on at Eaglescliffe? It seems the GC from Sunderland is 50 minutes late, the next Darlington is cancelled, the Saltburn train is also cancelled.
Then there's buses for Darlington, but a 10.43 train to Saltburn?

The GC northbound seems to be running fine...

Broken down train between Dinsdale and Allens West.

As for the GC southbound, it left Sunderland 52 down, so unrelated.

Thought it might be cable theft again guessing it was a 142 that failed? Was up that way last week and apparently failed 142s are becoming more frequent.

142 failed with a massive air leak. Another unit was brought along side and pax moved using the wheelchair ramp.

142 dumped in the West Dock at Boro today although this was due to a coupling problem.

Was on the early train out of the Boro to Newcastle via Hartlepool. Before the timetable change it was the 06.56 straight through to Carlisle, and the last time I went to use it it was cancelled due to a failed 142. With the timetable change it has become the 06.51 IIRC, and someone on that was saying it has been cancelled a few times since the end of May due to failed units.

You'd be surprised how much it is a daily struggle to run a service with a near constant shortage of units. Apart from the obvious mechanical defects, units are coming off shed with faults and on safety check are being failed. (unit leaking coolant all over saloon yet made it off the shed etc).

The other day units that should have been on shed by 1am didn't get up taken until 5am. They've had problems actually fuelling the units.

New diagrams haven't helped with the ECS from Knares' not running everyday leaving us 2 units down.

Most mornings be some cable theft somewhere meaning units can't get down to Darlo or Boro.

AFAIK Most of the early units come off Heaton depot, so that is where the problem is originating. Not sure why it seems to have affected some of the early services out of Boro but it is becoming more regular in the past few weeks.
