Even that is a bit of a fudge. The regulation is that the electric motor must not exceed a maximum continuous rated power of 250W. Like most electric motors, they can be run at higher power for brief periods. So expect the maximum power available to be higher.E-bikes are different from E-scooters. E-bikes (the legal ones) cannot move under their own power, the motor can only provide assistance to pedalling up to about 15 mph and has a limited power output.
