I've an opportunity to get a Dynamis very very cheap, but still can't afford to buy crud. I need something my kids can use easily, but the EzCommand isn't flexible enough.

Can anyone give a decent comparison of the Dynamis vs. the Elite? I'm happy to pay for the Elite, and think the expansion process is cheaper than the Dynamis, but is there anything else to think about?

Regards

Mike

I have both so my opinion is: Elite is better for younger users, Dynamis is much easier to use for Sound locos, signal range on (my) dynamis is pathetic. Elite is much more compatible with other systems (lenz). Overall: I would recommend getting the Elite as it is a better all rounder, however, if you are going to be using lots of sound locos, I would recommend getting the Dynamis. Hope this helps.
*EDIT* Another major point is that I have found that on my Dynamis, all batteries apart from the ones that are supplied with it do not work with it, I do not know if this was a fault or not, as I have not bothered replacing it, as I have scrapped DCC all together.

For Kids, I would go with the Elite, nothing to do with price, or capacity or anything like that, simply because Dynamis has a fiddly joystick and many have noted issues with it's reliability.

I have personally never used the Elite, but I do have a Dynamis, and whilst I have not had to deal with many of the complaints thrown at it, I can say that it looks very easy to...

a) Break (the handset)
b) Drop (the handset)
c) Lose (the handset)
d) Batter someone round the head with [the handset]
