Dussledorf to Wuppertaler Schwebebahn

Hi All
I'm spending a few days in Dussledorf in mid December and plan to ride the Wuppertaler Schwebebahn. What would be the best ticket to explore the area for one day?

In case you don't have a Deutschlandticket, a VRR 24 Stunden ticket (24 hour pass) is probably the best option. Looking at the fare brochures, you'll need a "Preisstufe C" ticket to cover Düsseldorf, the train to Wuppertal and the Schwebebahn. There are various regions within this preisstufe you can choose from, depending on where you'd also want to travel.
For example a region also including Remscheid and Solingen (which is one option) would enable a trip over the Müngstener Brücke being the highest railway bridge in Germany.

Generally this 1 month DE-ticket @ NOW 49€-58 from 1/1 is best value, but DO carefully read and adhere to the plenty advice-also several posts on this forum, as its in principle a running subscription for indefinite. Will also cover trip from airpt in case you fly in.
VRR will change its fare system as per 1/1, so above may also be different. VRR is the local Verbund=integrated trsp system, includes all-LOCAL trains, metro/bus/tram and this bahn. Fares as at levels A- B - C - D: local city, +surroundings + little further - D=Whole Verbund. Allows to travel to ALL these places around Düss. I think somewhere in the giant VRR site one can also find maps of what is allowed from what start zone till how far.
Also note the general timetable change as per mid-dec, but this wont affect this very much. Do NOT expect on time running or even that all trains run on your day of visit.

Depending on the exact dates, a Deutschlandticket may be the cheapest choice. A 24-hour VRR ticket is already €29.20 and a Deutschlandticket ordered with the HVV Switch app is calculated pro rata from the chosen start date until the end of the month. You can cancel up to and including the 10th of the month. For example, I have a Deutschlandticket valid on the 2 last days of November for €3.27. Ordered on the 10th and cancelled 1 minute after ordering.
For €29.20, a Deutschlandticket already makes sense with a start date of 14/12.
