I went to Peterlee today but had to catch a bus from Hartlepool. To make matters worse the bus didn't even go from outside Hartlepool station, and to rub salt into the wound it was virtually full.... There are some really rather small places which have had a new or reopened station, surely Peterlee would have a cast iron case for one. The only downside is that the line doesn't exactly run through the town centre but it's not that far away surely ?

Whilst on the subject of the Durham coast line, what about Ryhope ? Or even the north suburb (West View ? ) of Hartlepool ?

Il be honest, growth on the Durham Coast Line isnt huge. Yes people could argue that making the service half hourly could stimulate growth but with the buses providing an extremely efficient service all along Cleveland and county Durham (my village of less than 100 houses gets an hourly bus service from 0600 -2300) I somehow doubt reopening stations will happen in the short term, in all honesty I cant see it happening in my lifetime

The Go-Ahead X9/X10 from Boro -Newcastle which call at Peterlee with leather seats, plug sockets, free WiFi and cheaper fares than the trains provide a better value for money service.
