Unless I've overlooked it, there appears not to have been a Dungeness nuclear flask train for about three weeks. I saw it every Wednesday for about a month in June and July but it doesn't look like it's run since I last saw it on 16th July (photo here). Anybody know why or when it might return?

They could be doing some form of maintenance on the plant, thus making the trains redundant.

It's not just Dungeness - the Bridgwater flask train also hasn't run
for the same time period, so I presume that planned maintenance
is taking place at both sites while demand for electricity is low.

Reactor 1 at Dungeness B is currently off-line.

In the future Bradwell and Sizewell A could be sending their fuel element debris waste to Dunganess A for treatment, so there could be an increase in train movements.

I've seen the opposite on the Sizewell flasks, they seem to have been running recently a lot more often than they used to.

That was due to decommissioning work.

With effect from this week, they are likely to run a lot less frequently
and may even cease altogether...

37602 and 37610 at Dungeness on Wednesday 15 October 2014. Does anyone know if any aggregate trains have run from Lydd yet? What locos are used, and what is their destination?

I forgot to say; thanks for all the information everybody. It's interesting to see there will be more traffic up the Marshlink then!
