Dundee - new station concourse

Three years on from the demolition of the original station (locked thread here: http://www.railforums.co.uk/showthread.php?t=89981&highlight=dundee), the new concourse at Dundee is taking shape.

Here's some photos I took this morning.

The concourse itself will be under the arch, with a cafe to the left as you look at it. The top three floors will be occupied by a Sleeperz hotel.

I'll try and keep this updated with photos as and when the shell starts to be built around the steelwork.

Where's Earl Gray Place West? Google Maps seems not to know it. I see the Discovery visitor centre to the left, so… through the old Olypmia centre carpark? (I haven't been anywhere near the waterfront in about two years, with the exception of the Tay Bridge access roads—and then I was a bit distracted trying to work out where they were then going, given it felt like they went somewhere different each time!)

It's the road opposite the train station leading to the open space almost where Tayside House used to be.

Ah, right. I presume it's this, perpendicular South Union Street, given that would pass through Tayside House. (I still think it looks weird without those horrible, but oh-so-useful, bridges!)

I've been going up each week watching the station slowly take shape, I'm really looking forward to it being ready next year, hopefully.

I saw that BBC had a small section on the station on the news last night along with the progress on the new V&A museum.

Are there any plans to spruce up the platform level once the station/hotel is complete? It would seem like a shame to redevelop the upper level but keep the existing grimy lower level where the cafe/WHSmith is and by the waiting room by the terminating platforms.

I believe I saw some plans in the past for a new roof over the platforms and the pub is closed. So I'd expect some work to be done to smarten up the rest of the platform level.
