It's pretty much exclusively used for freight, i think theres something like 4 trains a day but I can't remember. I think it has been used for rolling stock deliveries before too.

It's the only way to get to the Midland main line (north and south at Cricklewood), and the GC at Neasden, from the GWR and LSWR systems.
Was at one time slated for electrification to get Heathrow Express trains to the City (via St Pancras and Moorgate), but dropped now we are getting Crossrail.

The western bit (Acton Wells-Acton Canal Wharf-WCML Wembley) will be wired as part of the GW scheme, including the link to Acton Yard (GW).
This was documented in the GW franchise ITT.

It also gets used for Chiltern Railways stock to get to and from Willesden and also if the silver sets need to be turned via Greenford-Acton Wells-Acton Canal and Neasden Midland....

I was looking at the second edition of the Track Atlas today and I noticed not only the Dudding Hill Line but another line close by between West London Junction and the Dudding hill line just short of Acton Wells Junction. if these two line along with the link from GWR Main line at Acton West Junction to Acton Wells Junction where all electrified, they would give a wonderful series on inter regional electrified connections in the West London Area. Surely this would be beneficial to improving the potential of electric freight services.
