DSDA Kineton

I remember not so long ago I was driving around warwickshire and I came across lots of level crossings I had not seen before.

I did some investigation and I found that DSDA Kineton was actually the main place in Britain where we store all of our munitions.

Obviously this place is "top secret" but I would be really interested to hear if anyone has any pictures or info about the route, rolling stock or operations at this place. I am intrigued.

There have been occasional railtours to Kineton in the past. I did one in the mid-1990s and we covered around 10 miles of the vast network. At the time, the site was also full of rolling stock in secure storage, ranging from the odd blue/grey Mk. 2 to Mk. 3 sleepers and even a few Class 92s.

If it were that sensitive it would have been removed from Google maps. I mean they even put the Marines base at Lympstone & SAS base in Herefordshire on there.

Now there's a thought I wonder if Area 51 appears on the US maps?

They don't even censor the White House, so it is unlikely that anything else has been censored. Things can be sensitive while people know about them, as long as they are properly protected.

Everyone knows where the White House, Area 51, 10 Downing Street etc are.
