I am a keen drummer with a range of musical interests (see left). I was wondering...are there any other drummers on the forum?

I used to drum at school many years ago and up until recently had not picked up a pair of sticks but my son did drum lessons for a while and I got into it again, unfortunately he stopped because he didn't like the lessons.

I was one of the first years to do GCSE's and actually got an A in Music

Yeah i'm a drummer too.

I play as much as i can depending on the housing situation. At the mo i am not playing at all due to living in a small flat. My missus and i are buying a house at the mo, specifically picking a plot in which i can set me kit up!

I've had loads of top kits over the years, but i sold them when skint and now play a yamaha stage custom nouveau. I have a big fat 14 x 8 maple snare that i built myself.

I also play guitar, sing and write songs, but if had to choose 1 it would of course be drumming

Yep, I'm a drummer. I had lessons several years ago but I found them pretty useless, so I taught myself and like to think I'm half decent(ish) .

I don't have a proper kit because there has been several 'incidents' with the neighbours in the last 18 months or so. Hence, I invested in an electronic kit at Christmas which I must say is very good indeed .

The new Arctic Monkeys album is getting thrashed out tonight me thinks...

Don't forget John Bonham!! Incidentally, I believe there is a programme on tonight at 10pm about him...what channel anyone?

Yes indeed. Have played for 21 years. Rock, metal, punk, funk, fusion and even a couple of stage shows.

Kit: Premier Artist Maple
22 x 18 (x2) Bass drums
Toms: 10, 12, 13, 14, 16 all rack mounted (but the 16" is in the "usual" floor tom position)
Snare: 13 x 4 maple
Cymbals - All Zildjian:
16" A custom Crash
2 x 18" A custom power crash
17" K Dark crash
10" A custom splash
13" A custom mastersound hats
18" A custom china
21" Z custom Megabell ride

Sticks are usually Vic Firth 5B's or 5A's, but I do like Dave Weckl's signature stick as well as Carter Beauford's.

Bass pedals are Premier's standard twin chain drivers with hard felt beaters with the reversible plastic heads.

Drumming influences: Dave Lombardo (Godfather of double bass), Carter Beauford, Dennis Chambers, Dave Weckl, Deen Castronovo, Thomas Lang and (i have to admit it) Lars Ulrich.

So that's my drumming summary in a nutshell. Good thread - there's not enough of us around!

There seem to be a lot of bassists here, theres more than I thought. Anyway I'm an amateur bassist, I'm also looking for a band to play with, anyone interested?

Oh Entwistle he IS good, I'm only learning Ramones stuff at the moment. Entwistle forever immortilised at Entwistles electricals from last of the summer wine.
