Am I correct in thinking the next assessments are April 13th?

If so, they're leaving it a wee bit late to let people know!

It all seems a bit last minute.com. Towards the start of the thread people were being invited for assessment with less than a weeks notice. This gas over the Easter holidays too so I wonder how many people missed out because their letters arrived while they were away.

if they are to stick to the same timetable then with the seven days notice required then I agree things may be a little tight.

I think it's probably deliberate to give those who are being invited just the right amount of time to prepare but not so much time they are slick at what's required, (or so stressed out about it that they mess it up) that way everyone has a level playing field - just my humble opinion.

Fair comment, sort of. However, it applies more to those who are not currently employed than those who are employed.

Personally, I'd have no chance of getting a day off at anything less than a months notice. A weeks notice - forget it.

If I had a months notice of assessment and was sent practice material a week before assessment I'd still get next to no time in which to prepare. Hell, if I was sent it a month before I'd still be unprepared!

Which stage of assessments do you mean?

The second stage of assessments.

As far as I can gather, it's the first set of official assessments but it's the second stage of assessments in the recruitment process. If that makes sense.

Just to clarify, the assessments that have been done thus far are the freight psychometrics. The next stage for those that haven't passed them recently will be the industry driver psychometrics, run by Opc in Watford. It would then be interviews then medical and security checks.

Other than the gb I'm not really sure what you could practice for stage one and you could be doing that now

Ive passed assessments with FTPE recently, anyone know what the score is with DRS?

I know a few have had problems taking other TOC assessments. Northern and FTPE have different pass grades if my memory serves me right, FTPE stopped anyone progressing with a Northern OPC pass.

Bluebri - I was actually in your neck of the woods today when I read your good news. I've not been there for quite a while - a lot of hard work has been done over the last few years it seems.

Had a late breakfast in somewhere called Porky Pantry or something similar. It came highly recommended by four or five different people and didn't disappoint.

It was big pleasure for me to be in the same boat as you and read all comments on this forum. Unfortunately it is end of this "competition" for me, I fallen on applications stage I feel a little bit shame but... "show must go on!" Now I have more time to prepare myself and improve english language skills!

Thanks for the messages. To those that didn't get through you shouldn't get too downhearted. Competition for these jobs is intense and the smallest thing on an application can make a big difference. Took me many attempts before I found the right way to sell myself. Besides, there is still a long way to go.

To brick man, I know the place you went but can't say I've eaten there, as the best breakfast in the wirral is served in my house lol. But yes, a lot has and is happening around Wallasey. New Brighton is so much better now and is a nice place to visit again. Although when it is warm it is unbelievably busy. With the plans they have for the disused docks area, Wallasey will be a very different and cosmopolitan place.

To anyone else still in the running good luck. Get practising the Bourdon test furiously lol.

I had a phone call yesterday telling me I'd been successful, with details of the next stage confirmed in the post this morning. So...that's how they're doing things. I don't know if everyone is going to Watford the same day or if they still have people to tell. I'm sitting the next tests on Wednesday.

The postman's been and still no letter. I know they said that even if you passed you might not be invited to Watford, but I'm eager to find out if I'm a failure or not. I have no wish to hassle HR either, who are no doubt busy enough without me bothering them.

Yes Malky, I got a call on Friday morning - very surprised at the quick result, I only done stage 1 last Tuesday!

There may still be time for your call, but like you said even if your don't get any further this time you might still have passed stage 1

I got no letter again today, so gave HR a call. Apparently I passed it, but the level was high, so they delved into the results a bit deeper and my Group Bourdon was at the lower end of the passes. Gutted. :cry:

I had a call today telling me I passed them! Final interview is on 2nd June.

I found the computer tests quite easy, but the MMI was pretty intense and I came out worrying I'd messed it up...but thankfully not.
