do WIPAC's do better than your standard full headlight?

Yes. They are to European standards too.

Which is why DRS went all that way WIPACing their 37s and 20s (the more recent 37s have been having LED lights fitted in the original fittings)

And EMUs'?

Im guessing EMU's will have the latest Equipment as TOC's must keep everything up to a high standard.

On a different note is anything happening to the DRELTIC yet as from the recent photos I see nothing much going on.

And EMUs'?

The vast majority of EMUs headlight's are up to scratch anyway, so there is no need to refit newer types.

And before you reply, the majority of DMUs also have high intensity lights, and all 2nd generation DMUs are being fitted with high intensity bulbs upon refurbmishent.

Now stop asking silly questions.

Personally if DRS havn't done anything with the loco by half way through this year i can see it going for scrap.. DRS have bought loco's before and then not done anything with them it's the same old story

I'm sorry, but how do you know they haven't done anything with it? Same old story? Pretty much every loco they have purchased has either been brought back to service or stripped for spares, they make use out of every loco they own. And HNRC are doing the work, not DRS.

Just adding to the rumour mill methinks

DRS have now said that the loco will be a flagship loco for the company rather than pulling freight...

Did i say that i KNOW they havn't done anything to it? No. and if you look on preserved diesels there are a lot of locos that have been purchased by drs and then scrapped. Its the kind of comments like this that cause the stupid arguements on here

It's been common knowledge since they purchased it really, no one really expected it to be working freight.

If you read my post, I said that they do scrap locos, but only because they have been stripped of all parts and are of no use to anyone.

The thing is, arguements are caused by people like yourself making up aload of rubbish and talking about scrapping, just because they haven't done anything to it yet. They have more important things to do, like running a company, than to be paying attention to their 55, which is why HNRC are doing the work.

Really now, calm down, it's only a Deltic.

Because comments like that arn't gonna make someone reply back slightly peeved..

i was simply adding a thought thats ran through my head but of course nobody can do that anymore without being told off, prooved wrong or having knowledge shoved down their throat.

Whether drs OR hnrc have done anything to the crappy lawnmower it doesn't matter i was personally saying.. you know that thing called a personal oppinion? that i reckon there wont be much gets done to it.

I'm not even going to bother forming a reply to you, as you really haven't read my posts through, and I can barely understand yours. I also have a personal opinion, and seeing as we are on a forum I was just debating the two, but seeing as you think yourself to be some god at the right old age of 5, I'm not even going to bother, as there are better forums for me to be contributing on, without the spotty nosed, uneducated kids that seem to linger around this forum all day, when they should be at school learning.

Good day to you all.

I'm 18 actually and finished school a good 2 years ago now thankyou very much.

If you can't be botherd with "kids" on these forums then whats the point in sending your stupid snotty replies back because the more you insult someone the more your going to get crap thrown back at you ;) Yes you have a personal opinion but there are better ways of putting them across instead of leaving pathetic little lines like "Just adding to the rumour mill" and "Spotty nosed uneducated kids" you need to clean up your attitude from the sounds of it you don't see me going round calling people stuff just because i don't agree with their comment

back to topic another thought of mine how many deltics are left laying around for spare parts now?

Handbags at dawn?

With the 55, am I the only one who doesn't particularly care what happens to it in the end? It's not the last one of it's kind around, and if it does get scrapped, it's not the end of the world, there are others. People can say whatever they want about it, but it's unlikely to have any effect on what does happen. If it does get scrapped, then so be it, it's DRS's desicion whether you like it or not.
It would be nice to see it running on the main line, but it's not that big a deal if it doesn't happen.
Tbh, I'd rather see a bone restored than another deltic.
