The nuclear flask trains to and from Dungeness which I sometimes see on the Marshlink always seem to be hauled by two 37s or 20s (and sometimes one of both). I have yet to see a 66 on those workings, and I suspect there might be a good reason. Does anybody know why or perhaps if a 66 has actually ever made it to Dungeness?

I believe a DB Schenker 66 has made to the Dungerness on a tour working, I was on a tour last year that had a 66/7 GBRF 66 on the front and a 73 on the back. We were held in a loop at Ashford awaiting permission to go onto the branch eventually the signaller gave us the road and we went all the way to the security gates at the power station.

The sectional Appendix states the following

SO210 Appledore to Lydd Town (Goods Line)
Class 66 R1 Restriction
R1 - Permitted subject to prior agreement with the Track Maintenance Engineer on each occasion.

Obviously the 20's have no restriction.
Class 37's - Sub class 37/7 & 37/9 not permitted.

It does please me that there are places that the sheds cannot regularly go to
