It happens. Sounds like someone wound off the parking brakes and then forgot to chock it.

Depends. On our similar Cl315's the parking brake is automatic and applies as the brake air pressure bleeds off. However, as-built they had a manual parking brake that was applied using a wheel, so maybe Miseryrail's units still have this.
Even with an automatic parking brake trains can still roll off, as every now and then the fitters need to wind them off manually with a big spanner for maintenance purposes. We had a Cl317 do this years ago. There had been an overnight isolation and, when the morning shed man went down the sidings to put all the pans up, he found one unit at a jaunty angle. Turned out it had rolled through the catch points and dropped one side of the leading bogie down a drain, all because the fitters had forgotten to re-instate the parking brake the last time it had been on the depot. As the air bled off there was nothing to prevent it heading off downhill of it's own accord.
